History
Istanbul International School was established to meet the educational needs of two groups of people – foreigners living in Istanbul with a need for English medium education and Turkish Citizens who wanted to benefit from a school with an international dimension. Due to changes in regulation and the tightening of laws surrounding the legality of Turkish citizens studying in an International School, Istanbul International School has had to move towards catering only to International families.
Families interested in quality education at an affordable price find that Istanbul International School provides them with excellent educational possibilities. Over the years, the specially designed programmes have contributed to each other and given an exceptional experience of learning and sharing together with children representing more than 50 nationalities.
The school has a short history but in the course of time has grown from a bilingual Pre- School in 2000, to the formation of a Primary School in 2002. The school’s location is in the green district of Çamlıca, on the Asian side of Istanbul. Starting with only 12 students, the numbers had reached over 470 by 2018. The school provides currently educational services from Pre- School to the end of High School on two campuses, within easy reach of each other.
The school opened only with the approval of the Turkish Ministry of Education and over the years has been accredited by the Cambridge organisation as one of its approved International Schools. The school is also a member of the International Schools Association and it continues to improve its quality and standards.
